Mud Run Program
One of the biggest trends in exercise to emerge in the last couple years are the challenging, messy but fun “mud runs.” Mud runs are exactly like they sound: competitive races complete with obstacles somewhat similar to a steeplechase, only imagine the course run through the muddiest conditions you can imagine!
Annually, there are approximately 369 mud runs that take place in the US and the number is rapidly growing. With an average of 1,000 participants in each race, that amounts to roughly 369,000 total mud run participants- and that doesn’t even include the thousands of spectators in attendance to cheer on the runners.
At Funds2Orgs we want in on the messy races as well, but with a different purpose in mind: We want ALL of the muddy footwear left after the race. Chances are the footwear used by mud runners is no longer suitable for running competitive races, not to mention it will be a pain to clean off. Well, those same mud-caked pairs of shoes can change lives in developing nations and we aim to ship the shoes to those who need them most. The shoes will be cleaned and used in Micro-enterprise by vendors who will feed their families and grow closer to financial sustainability.
- Funds2Orgs is offering money for your organization and free shipping for used shoes of all kinds
- Footwear has to be in plastic bags and shipped within 24 hours of the race
- We will pay either the race organizers directly or the charity of their choice
The months of February through August present the highest number of organized mud races, especially in states like California, Florida, Georgia, New York, Ohio and Texas. We want to turn these mud runs into Funds2Orgs shoe collection drives that both the race participants and spectators can participate in.
Here at Funds2Orgs we pride ourselves in maintaining the free spirit of fun and exercise. Not only are participants getting the fitness benefits, but now the races can present a charitable tie-in as well. Give us a call today or email us at email@example.com
