“You’ll learn, as you get older, that rules are made to be broken. Be bold enough to live life on your terms, and never, ever apologize for it. Go against the grain, refuse to conform, take the road less traveled instead of the well-beaten path. Laugh in the face of adversity, and leap before you look. Dance as though EVERYBODY is watching. March to the beat of your own drummer. And stubbornly refuse to fit in.” – Mandy Hale, The Single Woman: Life, Love and a Dash of Sass
Through this week, many in the Funds2Orgs Group are gathering with their own families and friends for the holidays. It’s a great time of year where generosity, kindness, and reflection abound. We’re happy to have the time to share with our husbands, wives, life partners, children, grandchildren, parents, and others. We also hope that you’re going to have the time to spend the holiday and this period as the year draws to a close with those you love as well.
Today, we are thinking about the thousands of partners who have been with us since the beginning. Many might not realize it, but Funds2Orgs was started by a small group of believers who thought they could change the world. At the time, some said what we were planning was a crazy idea, but it’s become a humbling reality.
The group that started Funds2Orgs understood that nonprofits, schools, churches and civic groups across the U.S. needed help raising money. There were many discussions around the kitchen table in those early years, including the fact that there are countless families around the world who have little means to provide high-quality education and work opportunities for their children and themselves.
We understood that we could become a bridge. It was from those seemingly small seeds of an idea for a business that we first developed Funds2Orgs in 2012.
Flash forward to now, and we don’t have just one company, but four brands that are for-profit fundraising social enterprises that also help micro-entrepreneurs around the world and even the environment as shoes get an extended lease on life and are repurposed.
During this holiday week, the team at Funds2Orgs Group is thinking of all of the people we’ve met through the years who have placed their trust in us. We are also thinking of the more than 4,000 micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations who are our partners.
As we celebrate the holiday season, we want to thank you all and tell you that it’s been our privilege to be your partner. We hope that you agree with our thinking that when one person gets together with another and then another, you suddenly have a group that can, in fact, change the world. However, it all starts with one person who has a thought and shares it to someone else.
As our founder and CEO, Wayne Elsey, always says, YOU MATTER!
Happy holidays and happy New Year!
