This is the time for your year-end fundraising. And with a little planning and strategy, you should end the year with many more fundraising dollars to help your organization. In short, we’ll explore the keys to year-end fundraising success!

The end of the year is a time when donors and champions reflect on charitable gifts. First, it’s part of the holiday spirit. But, it’s also a time for year-end tax planning. Of course, those in the certain industries receive work bonuses. So, this is the time to make sure that your nonprofit is front and center in their minds.

As a result, we have tips to make sure that you maximize your year-end fundraising. Knowing these ideas will get you more donations than you ever!

So, let’s get started!

Create a solid campaign strategy with multiple outreach channels

Because you find donors and prospects in different places, it’s vital to create a campaign strategy using various outreach channels. Some of your supporters will respond to direct mail. And others prefer email. Still, others want to donate by text or social media. So take the time to understand your database and your audience. Think about the ways they like to receive communications from you, and then use those channels. Also, if you can, survey your donors to understand more information about them. And ask them the best way for you to keep in touch with them.

Utilize social media for fundraising

Social media is an integral part of communicating with your followers in the digital world. For example, Facebook is the largest social media platform in the world. As a result, it has people of all generations and ages on the site on a daily basis. But it’s also an excellent way to promote your cause, without spending a lot of money. The most critical element of what you have to do is entice your followers to share your content. So, create fun, engaging and uplifting messages that make what you post more easy to share. The best posts are light and engaging. Also, don’t forget to ask your followers to share your posts because you need their help to succeed.

Be consistent and always follow up

Your supporters and donors are busy. Everyone is living at full throttle, so you have to consistently follow-up and drive urgency. Tell your followers your overall goal for year-end giving and then work backward with milestones you want them to help you achieve in the critical months of October, November, and December. Make consistent appeals conveying compelling stories that demonstrate your work in action. Also, provide your champions with updates as to where you are concerning your goal.

The best thing to do is to feature a great story and then help them rationalize their gift by telling donors how their support is helping you ensure that many others will also get the assistance they need from your organization. A nice touch at the end of the year in December is to get creative by sending a holiday card and maybe even include an appeal. Many gifts are made in December, so ensure that you’re connecting with your supporters regularly and consistently.
